Training
AIWA provides training for Aboriginal interpreters, service users, and community members. Cultural protocols and safety are embedded in all of our training and workforce development. Our training has a three-pronged approach:
- Interpreters – Training Aboriginal language speakers in developing knowledge and skills in the Interpreting role.
- Services – Understanding how, when, and why to work with Aboriginal interpreters.
- Community – Advocating for the right to have an interpreter to ensure equal access of two-way communication.
