Cross Cultural Communication

‘Communicating effectively with Aboriginal people in WA’

AIWA offers its comprehensive workshop
‘Communicating effectively with Aboriginal people’
for organisations and their staff.

The workshop can be delivered anywhere there is access to power and is suitable as a refresher for old hands and as part of the induction process for new staff.

AIWA's workshops are delivered by local Aboriginal people, most of whom are qualified Aboriginal language interpreters. The workshop focuses on effective cross-cultural communication with the addition of some history and information on the local Aboriginal world view--all essential elements for establishing an harmonious working relationship with Traditional Owners in the region.

The workshops are designed for groups up to 15. Individuals may attend scheduled workshops if there are spaces available. Provided suitable notice is given, workshops can be customised to suit an organisation's requirements.

AIWA presenters are, in the main, NAATI-accredited, Aboriginal language interpreters from a wide range of experiences and backgrounds, Traditional Owners of various locations across the state.
